Marckabraham.com has learned that McKinley High School Band Director and music teacher Amy Steiner will transfer from the school at the end of this school-year. Steiner transferred from City Honors to McKinley H.S. in the summer of 2022 after being hired by then Principal Mustafa Khalil to start a band program. When the 2022-2023 school started Steiner was informed by Principal Khalil that she would not be the band director, but instead she would serve as the schools music education teacher. While Khalil provided Steiner with the "official justification" for the shift, that many students needed a one credit general music class in order to graduate, the real reason was widely believed to be that Associate Superintendent of School Leadership Charlene Watson and other upper level BPS brass harbor resentment towards Steiner due to a lawsuit that she and the Buffalo Teacher's Federation filed several years ago alleging that BPS was not providing students with the required music classes.

Amy Steiner is a 2-time Grammy nominated Conductor (click here) and Music Educator, began her career as a Band Director 1996, in the City of Buffalo. Among the many accolades she earned, in 2010 she received a Forty Under 40 Award from Business First, in 2016-2017 she was the Buffalo State Instrumental Music Educator of the Year (click here) and most notably she was a 2018 John Philip Sousa Sudler Silver Scroll Award Recipient, which is the most prestigious award given to a conductor in Community Band. This was only the 3rd time in history that a female conductor received the Silver Scroll award and the 1st awarded to a NYS Band (click here.)
Locally, Steiner is co-founder, Music Director and Conductor of the Buffalo Wind Symphony (click here). She has also initiated several community projects including “BWS Summer Music Camp”, All-City Jazz Initiative as well as launched an All-City Jazz Program in Conjunction with Buffalo State College. During her 26 year career as an educator and Band Director in the Buffalo Public School District Ms. Steiner instituted a district-wide yearly Music Camp, conducted the All-City Band and was also founder and project manager of “forGOT music?”, a movement to save the instrumental music programs in the Buffalo Schools. Her resume includes far too many accolades and achievements to include here (click here.)

As previously mentioned, former McKinley Principal Mustafa Khalil, who was respected by staff and students, was forced out officially on January 30, 2023 although his last day serving as Principal of McKinley H.S. was January 13, 2023. Although the Superintendent and the BOE are vested with the official authority to remove a principal, it is widely known that Khalil and Associate Superintendent of School Leadership Charlene Watson butted heads frequently during his approximately 13 months as principal. Watson wanted to micromanage/remote control Khalil but he acted in the best interest of students and staff, which upset Watson. The staff supported Khalil and attempted to fight off Watson's attempt to replace him by writing a letter to The Board of Education, with the letter copied to Superintendent Williams and others (see attached). Watson was successful in removing Khalil, who was moved from the McKinley, as of 1/30/23 officially.

On January 30, 2023 Principal Terrance Jenkins was officially transferred from Waterfront Elementary School to McKinley H.S. to take over as Principal. Since Mr. Jenkins' arrival Mrs. Watson has injected herself into the school scene at McKinley, many weeks appearing in the school four or five days a week. Watson, has reprimanded, belittled and disrespected staff members on a daily basis, often times when without getting the staff members side of the story or investigating first. One may think that having an Associate Superintendent in a building that has had the issues that McKinley has, would be a good thing, but that his not the case. Watson is so unpolished, rude and disrespectful that many of the staff members hate coming to work. Additionally, Watson is VERY often confused and so wrong about whatever it is that she is reprimanding staff about that many are concerned that her mental faculties may not be in tact. She often stops in mid sentence, does an about face, only to change directions several more times right after. Sometimes she gets confused and frustrated and then just sticks to her guns and gets LOUD if the staff member tries to correct her or clarify. Watson has gone so far as to send emails to staff members giving them directions and/or reprimanding them, with the tag "Per Principal Jenkins" at the top of the email. No teacher anywhere, has ever received an email from someone other than their building principal, that was tagged "Per the Principal." All Principals sent their own emails. Mrs. Watson has been running McKinley for months (and not well.).

On February 1st, 2023, Just days after removing Principal Khalil from McKinley and installing Mr. Jenkins as her hand picked replacement, Mrs. Watson CalledMs. Steiner's classroom and questioned why she was having an event in the building that evening, without HER permission. Ms. Steiner explained that she is the Music Director and Conductor of the Buffalo Wind Symphony and the Symphony was practicing at McKinley that evening (2/1/23), to ensure that they would fit on the stage, for their May 6, 2023 performance (click here). Ms. Steiner further explained that she had already cleared her Symphony's rehearsal with new Principal Mr. Jenkins, both verbally and in writing. Mrs. Watson demanded that Ms. Steiner come to the office when her class was over.
When Ms. Steiner's class was over she went to the office and Mrs. Watson took her into Mr. Jenkins' office and shut the door (without Mr. Jenkins in the office). Mrs. Watson raised her voice immediately and shouted, "how are these students going to get transportation to get here and who will be feeding them?" Ms. Steiner responded by sticking out her hand and saying, "hello, I'm Ms. Steiner, nice to meet you. Who are you?" Ms. Steiner had never met Mrs. Watson, so she was attempting to model professional behavior for Watson, in order to deescalate her aggressive and disrespectful demeanor. Ms. Steiner then informed Ms. Watson that no students (or anyone for that matter) was invited to the rehearsal, that it was only her Symphony practicing for their May 6th performance. Mrs. Watson then responded, "why is this the first I'm hearing of this and who authorized this?" Ms. Steiner again explained that she had cleared the rehearsal with Principal Jenkins. Ms. Watson then called downtown and had a loud conversation with someone, during which she expressed her displeasure that Ms. Steiner was having her rehearsal at McKinley. When Ms. Watson got off the phone Ms. Steiner also informed her that her group had purchased special insurance to cover them while rehearsing at McKinley, just as any outside group would. Ms. Steiner further explained that she organized the May 6, 2023 performance (click here) by The Buffalo Wind Symphony, at McKinley, to expose the McKinley students to her Symphony, to peak their interest in joining band. Even though she was raising her voice and didn't even know how to introduce herself, Mrs. Watson then told Ms. Steiner that she was being unprofessional, which was illogical. Ms. Steiner left the office and found Mr. Jenkins in the auditorium and told him what just transpired. A short period of time later Ms. Steiner heard Mr. Jenkins and Mrs. Watson shouting at each other from inside his office (in the main office). Mr. Jenkins then contacted Ms. Steiner and told her that she COULD hold her rehearsal that evening, as he previously authorized her to do. In fact, Mr. Jenkins stayed and thanked the Buffalo Wind Symphony for being there. Clearly Mr. Jenkins needs to tell Ms. Watson to stop emasculating him and let him run his building.
Just weeks after the aforementioned incident Ms. Watson again yelled at Ms. Steiner in the hallway AFTER school hours for bringing her son into school with her. Ms. Steiner went home after work, picked up her son and returned to school AFTER school hours to VOLUNTEER with the talent show auditions and to attend the basketball game. Mrs. Watson loudly berated Ms. Steiner, in front of her son and others and told her she was not allowed to have her son on school grounds. Any REAL SCHOOL would encourage their staff to bring their children to school after hours for such activities, but not Ms. Watson. It is noteworthy that Ms. Steiner took her son to the office, immediately upon entering the school, to sign him in and let the office staff know that he was there with her. Ms. Steiner left the building and did not VOLUNTEER with the talent show auditions or attend the basketball game with her son.

Terrance Jenkins took over as Principal on January 30, 2023 but he did not meet with the School Based Management Team in the month of February or in the beginning of the month of March. In mid-March members of the SBMT became aware that Jenkins was meeting with the guidance department, formulating the 2023-2024 budget, without SBMT. This led to some of the SBMT members repeatedly requesting that Jenkins meet with them regarding the budget (as he is supposed to).
Jenkins finally relented and met with the SBMT on March 23, 2023. When the topic of Ms. Steiner having a band for the 2023-2024 school year was brought up, Jenkins stated, "Ms. Steiner really wants to do the band, which I really don’t have a problem with. But we should get another teacher instead of having her split it.” Later when Mr. Jenkins was asked whether or not the school could get a technology coach and other progams, Jenkins replied, "Right now, by all accounts, McKinley can pretty much get what they want, right now." (click here). Mr. Jenkins went on to talk about how in favor he was of Ms. Steiner starting a band and how good it would be for the school. **NOTE: THE RECORDING MAY NOT PLAY ON YOUR PHONE BUT IT WILL PLAY ON YOUR COMUTER.**
A little more than two weeks later, on Monday April 10, 2023, Ms. Watson called Ms. Steiner to the office and informed her that the guidance office determined that the students didn't want band, according to a survey they allegedly put out. Two days later, on Wednesday April 12, 2023 Ms. Steiner and the SBMT learned that the McKinley budget was being finalized downtown two days later on Friday April 14, 2023, even though the SBMT had not been involved in constructing and approving the budget. This resulted in the BTF and other SBMT members who are teachers and parents writing multiple letters and emails to Jenkins and Superintendent Williams protesting the fact that the SBMT was circumvented, contrary to the agreement that the Buffalo Board of Education made with BTF, that the SBMT team would be involved with constructing and most importantly approving the budget. The last letter that was sent was signed by four of the SBMT members and was directed to Superintendent Williams on Thursday April 13, 2023. The letter predicted that Jenkins and Watson would attempt to scramble and schedule a bogus SBMT meeting to get pretend input from them prior to the Friday April 14, 2023 meeting at which the budget would be finalized (click here). Jenkins responded to the SBMT members letter in an email that contained so much purposeful and confusing word salad that it was almost impossible to follow (click here). As expected, Jenkins fabricated reasoning to schedule an emergency SBMT meeting for the following day, Friday April 14, 2023 and another for Monday 4/17/23 at 7:30 A.M. Jenkins also gave word salad reasoning why the timeline for the final budget meeting had moved multiple times in the the last 24 hours. The SBMT knew the real reason for the movement of the timeline was to allow Jenkins and Watson time to schedule a few SBMT meetings to get pretend input.

Jenkins and Watson held an emergency SBMT meeting, with the guidance department also present, on Friday 4/14/23. Associate Superintendent Watson started the meeting off by attempting to make up lie after lie about why the final budget meeting was switched multiple times in the last few days. Several times she got so confused and flustered that she said "I lied" and reversed course. Her saying "I lied" may be the only time she told the truth during the meeting.
When SBMT members questioned why the SBMT wasn't invited to the meetings that had been taking place over the previous months, as they should have been as per the SBMT agreement between BPS and the BTF, Mr. Jenkins responded "as far as the meetings and trying to meet, it's been an unorthodox year, right now. As far as I'm concerned. So, I'm doing the best I can, with the amount of time I have. Meeting Saturday's not just with the school based management team, for everything that's going on here." One member again asked why they simply couldn't be invited to the meetings that were held, Watson erupted and became loud and and didn't want to discuss SBMT not being involved in the process. The meeting was a bogus and pretend meeting as the budget was done before 4/14/23 and they had zero input. The meeting was a dog a pony show.
The SBMT was provided with a spreadsheet that gave a very basic breakdown of the budget. The SBMT members made the following objections to the spreadsheet and the process in general:
1. They were presented with a budget outline riddled with inaccuracies. When they questioned the inaccuracies they were told, “don’t worry about it, it’s the same as last year, that’s just a mistake.” How could the administration be on the cusp of presenting the budget for final approval, when the document that they claim to be the final budget is rife with inaccuracies? Either the budget presented to SBMT was not the real budget or the document, with all its inaccuracies is evidence that the people who met regarding the budget certainly could have used the SBMT’s help DURING and in the meetings where the budget was discussed without THEM. The SBMT has requested that they be given an accurate spreadsheet immediately.
2. The budget outline that SBMT was presented with, did not include a column indicating the positions that were received and those that were “bought” for the 2022-2023 budget. They requested this information be on the next spreadsheet.
3. The SBMT team requested that they be forwarded the original budget email that Mr. Jenkins stated that he was afraid to open initially.
4. The SBMT requested that Jenkins provide them with the overall dollar amount that was afforded to McKinley earmarked to “buy” positions that the SBMT decided upon. They also requested the same information for the 2022-2023 school year budget.
5. The document provided SBMT indicates that an admin position is being cut while a "coordinator" position is being added. This is simply renaming an administrator as a "coordinator." They may not be admin certified or get paid as much as an admin but they will certainly do admin jobs. Some members of the SBMT believe that we should NOT hire a coordinator but instead the current admin needs training to perform their duties more efficiently.
6. The document also indicated that McKinley is buying seven teacher aides. Many of the SBMT feel that we should buy zero teacher aides for next year, as McKinley has an abundance of aides, most of which are poorly utilized. They recommend training and utilization of the aides that that they receive, and buying zero.
7. Some members believe additional CTE teachers should be hired so that freshmen could receive CTE training, as was previously done.
8. · The document also lists that Art received 1.8 positions. SBMT has received information that this is inaccurate. They have been told that “the arts” received 1.8 positions and admin choose to allocate the 1.8 to “Art.” If that is true, this should be reflected in the document provided to SBMT. Listing it the way it currently is, is misleading.
9. If #8 is true above many SBMT team members would like to allocate the 1.8 to music and they would also like to buy .2 music positions. This would allow McKinley to have band and Music In Our Lives/chorus.
10. Some SBMT members would like to buy 1.5 art positions.

On Monday 4/17/23 at 7:30 A.M. Watson and Jenkins held another bogus SBMT meeting, so that they could say that they got "input" from the SBMT. In addition to Mrs. Watson and Mr. Jenkins, Ms. Steiner, and several teachers and a parent (three of whom are on SBMT) attended the meeting. Mrs. Steiner was allowed to speak and she questioned Ms. Watson regarding the fact that she had misrepresented to the SBMT on Friday 4/14/23 that the district had allocated 1.8 teaching positions to "Art", while they allocated 0 to music (Note: while Ms. Steiner was speaking Mrs. Watson was passive aggressively typing on her computer the whole time.) Mrs. Steiner stated that her supervisor told her that the district allocated 1.8 teaching positions to "THE ARTS" and that Mrs. Watson choose to allocate the 1.8 teaching positions to "ART" and 0 to "Music." Mrs. Watson attempted to sidestep Mrs. Steiners assertion but she was pinned down by another teacher and SBMT member who attended the meeting and Watson reluctantly admitted that Mrs. Steiner was correct. The importance of Mrs. Steiner's point, was that the district gave McKinley 1.8 "ARTS" positions that could have been allocated to Music OR Art and Mrs. Watson and Mr. Jenkins CHOOSE to allocated those positions to ART, while they misrepresented to the SBMT that the district simply didn't allocate any positions to Music. Watson attempted to justify the fact that she allocated the 1.8 teaching positions to "Art" by stating that many more students requested "Art" when filling out their course request sheets for next year. Ms. Steiner quickly responded that BAND WAS NOT LISTED ON THE COURSE REQUEST SHEET THAT THE STUDENTS RECEIVED/FILLED OUT, SO OF COURSE THEY DIDN'T CHOOSE BAND. Mrs. Watson then lied and said that she, Mr. Jenkins and the guidance department were not aware that Mrs. Steiner wanted to teach Band when they constructed the course request form and Ms. Steiner immediately corrected them and reminded them that she and others had gone to Mr. Jenkins multiple times and advocated for Ms. Steiner to start band from the moment he took over in January of 2023. Watson then reverted to the usual, she lied and said that it was an "error" that band was left off the course request document. Just think about how insulting it was for Ms. Steiner and a table of intelligent professionals to sit there and listen to Watson tell them that McKinley couldn't have a band because the students didn't sign up for it when they filled out their course requests and "the data" didn't support having a band program, when Watson and Jenkins PURPOSFULLY refused to meet with SBMT and also refused to put Band on the course request document in a FLAGRANT attempt to stop Mrs. Steiner from enriching the lives of the McKinley students with a band program.
Watson and Jenkins made bogus argument after bogus argument against having band throughout the meeting. Watson said, "we need to focus on academics." This was shot down by Ms. Steiner and others when they pointed out that Music, Band, Art and even P.E. are "academic" areas. To imply that those subjects are not academic, when they are required courses that provide students with credit to graduate is not only insulting, but blatantly incorrect. It was clear that Watson was so clueless that she numbered Music and other special area classes in the same category as after school sports or after school clubs. BUT, truth be told, if Mrs. Watson and Mr. Jenkins truly only wanted to focus on academics, why are they allowing all of the sports teams to continue and also after school clubs? It seems as if the only thing they won't allow is band.
Mrs. Watson made too many outrageous and simply incorrect arguments against having band to list here, but one of the most hysterical was when she stated that she didn't even know if the students could fit Band into their schedules for next year. Ms. Steiner then explained that Band is NOT scheduled in Infinite Campus in the student's schedules as they are pulled from various classes on a rotational basis, in order to not pull them from any one class too often. Furthermore, Ms. Steiner explained that students are only allowed to attend band lessons if they are passing their classes with high marks, which incentivizes students to attend school and do their work. Mrs. Watson then doubled down and responded that maybe Mrs. Steiner could hold band before school and teach "Music In Our Lives" (the general music curriculum) during the day. It was clear that Mrs. Watson didn't understand how a band program operates, so Ms. Steiner explained that a band teacher needs to have a clear schedule during the day in order to be able to bring individual students and/or small groups of students down for lessons. Mrs. Watson then dug deeper and stated, "I have seen some Music teachers do PowerPoint and recordings with students in the Music in our lives curriculum." It was at that point that everyone in attendance, knew that Mrs. Watson was not only dead set against Ms. Steiner but also very "out of touch", as PowerPoint was impressive around approximately 1999 and also not comparable to running a band program.
Ms. Steiner stated several times that she had approximately 68 students from her classes this year that wanted to join band next year. Mrs. Watson stated that she was going to call each of the 68 students down and interview them in order to authenticate Ms. Steiner's claim. Ms. Steiner responded that she would have over 100 signed up if she knew that she could have a band and was allowed to recruit fully. The 68 students were only from Ms. Steiner's classes, which is a small fraction of the student body. Think of the absurdity of Mrs. Watson calling down these 68 students to interrogate them regarding their desire to join band. Did Mrs. Watson bring down each and every student that filled out the course request sheet for "Art?" Did Mrs. Watson bring down every student that signed up to play football next year to make sure they could have a team? Clearly Mrs. Watson and/or others downtown have an issue with Mrs. Steiner and simply don't want her to start a band program at McKinley, regardless of how it negatively effects the students.
Mr. Jenkins should not be let off easily in all of this. While Mrs. Watson spewed this utter nonsense Jenkins backed her up the whole way, no matter how far off base she was. Jenkins repeatedly stated, "You don't have to sell music to me, I love music etc." while he echoed Watsons illogical reasoning for not allowing Ms. Steiner to start a band program at McKinley. Keep in mind, this was just a few weeks after Jenkins told the SBMT "Right now, by all accounts, McKinley can pretty much get what they want, right now." (click here). (Go to your computer to listen to that audio of Jenkins, as the recording will not play on your phone.) Clearly Mrs. Watson and others downtown informed Jenkins that he needed to fall in line and do a 180 and retract his endorsement of Ms. Steiner bringing band to McKinley. In a low integrity move, Jenkins fell right in line and let Watson remote control him, like he has since he got to McKinley, even though the students are the ones who will suffer the most as a result.

Band Teachers do not teach regular music classes as their schedules must be free in order to give them time to bring down individual students and small groups of students for lessons. As previously written, Ms. Steiner's schedule is full this year as she was blindsided when she came in to work on the first day of school in September of 2022. Although she interviewed and was hired for a "Band Director" position, former McKinley Principal Khalil informed Ms. Steiner that she would have to teach a textbook "music in our lives" class for one year and that she could start a band the following year, to which Ms. Steiner reluctantly agreed. Logistically this meant that Ms. Steiner had a classroom of approximately 30+ students for five periods a day, leaving no time for her to teach lessons or start a band program.
In the fall of 2022 several students came to Ms. Steiner and asked her if she would give them lessons. Ms. Steiner had no room in her schedule that would have allowed her to accommodate these students, so she offered to give them lessons on her prep and lunch. For months Ms. Steiner has indeed been providing lessons for these students, instead of taking her prep and lunch, all for the love of her students. Ms. Steiner's passion for her students and her art form (band) are so strong that she undoubtedly could change the culture of McKinley High School in a matter of months, if Mrs. Watson would put her personal issues aside and do what is best for the students. Instead of being known for having incompetent administrators and 10+ fights daily, McKinley would soon be know for having one of the best bands around. Just imagine a polished and well tuned band playing at McKinley H.S. football games. The culture would be changed immediately.
It should also be noted that Ms. Steiner has acquired 100 new instruments that are now at McKinley, in preparation for next year. Ms. Steiner's Wind Symphony has also donated 15 instruments to McKinley, in order to help get the band program off the ground. The McKinley auditorium was recently renovated and has a pro sound board, pro lifting board, pro sound system, catwalk and state of the art acoustics along with rare cushioned seating. Yet, Mrs. Watson just doesn't think having a band is a good idea.
Note: If McKinley does end up having a band, and they shine like we know they will, watch Ms. Watson, Mr. Jenkins and others line up to pose for the pictures when the accolades, awards ceremonies and "photo-ops" role in.

It widely known that BPS Associate Superintendent Charlene Watson was an Assistant Principal under legendary McKinley Principal Crystal Barton. Mrs. Barton was known for running an organized school and also as someone that was not to be crossed. Ms. Watson idolized Mrs. Barton and is attempting to make her own mark as an upper level administrator in BPS.
As previously written, Ms. Steiner previously worked at City Honors and Hutch Tech prior to that. In November of 2019 Ms. Steiner and New York State United Teachers filed a law suit against Buffalo Public Schools alleging that the district was not providing adequate music classes for its students (click here.) Within weeks of filing the lawsuit, Ms. Steiner's Principal at Hutch Tech wrote her up multiple times, for outrageous and easily disprovable offenses. Ms. Steiner had never been written up before in her 20 years of teaching, which made the write ups clearly identifiable as retaliation. Ms. Steiner and NYSUT filed an improper practice lawsuit against BPS for retaliation by her then Hutch Tech Principal. At the end of the 2019-2020 school year, in another obvious act of retaliation, Hutch Tech eliminated their band program. Ms. Steiner's improper practice lawsuit was settled in 2021 (yes, she won). Ms. Steiner's lawsuit against the district for not providing providing adequate music classes for its students concluded in 2022.
So now fast forward to the fall of 2022. Ms. Steiner transfers to McKinley from City Honors because she wanted to conduct a high school band (City Honors only had a middle school band.) and low and behold all of this happens and Ms. Watson just won't let her start a band program. It doesn't take a detective to figure out that Ms. Watson is trying to carve out her own "bad girl" reputation among the BPS community, as someone that "is not to be crossed." Undoubtedly she and others in the upper BPS brass have determined that they are going to make an "example" of Amy Steiner. Perhaps Mrs. Watson has watched too many movies and envisions making Ms. Steiner "an offer she can't refuse."
What Mrs. Watson hasn't taken into account is that the staff members at McKinley are tired of disrespectful and retaliatory practices by administration. It was not long ago that McKinley staff members drew a line in the sand over former substitute Principal Marck Abraham's retaliatory behavior and mismanagement of the school, which was a major contributing factor to the shooting and stabbing that occurred in 2022. The staff facilitated and orchestrated the ouster of Abraham's enabler Kriner Cash, which opened that position for Dr. Williams to be appointed as Superintendent of Buffalo Public Schools. Dr. Williams then appointed Mrs. Watson to the position of Associate Superintendent. It is now Mrs. Watson's conduct that is shedding a negative light on her and those around her.

Principal Jenkins and Mrs. Watson should receive letters in their files for circumventing SBMT and also "training" on how to include the SBMT moving forward. Mrs. Watson should be placed on leave, effective immediately, in order for BPS officials to determine what transpired here exactly. Having a musician and band director, the caliber of Mrs. Amy Steiner, at McKinley H.S., could change the lives of its students. Mrs. Watson is undoubtedly blocking Ms. Steiner from having a band at McKinley, in retaliation for the lawsuit (click here) she previously brought against the district for not providing the music services to its students. There is no place for retaliation in a school setting or anywhere for that matter. If Mrs. Watson and Mr. Jenkins have another logical reason why Mr. Jenkins pivoted from "McKinley can get whatever it wants" in the course of two weeks, we are all ears. As of right now, Jenkins has not offered ANY LEGITIMATE reasoning as to why McKinley students cannot have band. Everyone knows that Jenkins is not in charge and that Watson is running EVERYTHING. If Watson is not placed on leave, perhaps Jenkins should man up and stop allowing her to emasculate him (she is running HIS building), and tell her to stay out of his building and let him do his job.
Marckabraham.com feels strongly that Watson needs to be placed on leave though, as justice needs to be served and this needs to be investigated. Part of the investigation should include an interview of Mr. Khalil. Mr. Khalil needs to be asked if Mrs. Watson forced him to rescind his offer to allow Ms. Steiner to teach Band for the 2022-2023 school year. Furthermore, Mr. Khalil needs to be asked if his promise to allow Ms. Steiner to start a Band Program for the 2023-2024 school year was a point of contention with Mrs. Watson and a contributing factor to him being removed. If Ms. Steiner leaves McKinley the students will be missing out on the opportunity of a lifetime. Afterall, that's what we are here for, right?
